Upper Fountain – Joe Cooper, son of Oscar Cooper died Monday morning after a short illness in his home, one mile east of Hillsboro. The school children marched into the house and did the singing in an impressive manner, then led the way to town. This revealed the fact to us that little Joe had not lived in vain. He was 13 years old. Funeral occurred at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning. Interment at the Coats cemetery. – kbz
